Long Live the New Sound (LLtNS) is a collaborative project designed by myself and Stuart Lynn and filled with audio by contributors around the world. Project on Pain
In moments of wellness you can imagine the universe; in moments of extreme pain you’re left with only yourself. The experience is like a descent into one’s own body. “On Pain” is an experimental audio documentary series exploring the depths of these experiences.
Each part surveys the experiences, language and memories associated with chronic, acute and re-occurring pain. Each segment follows a single person’s experience and insight into their own physical pain, then mixing the voices from additional interviews, found audio and a rich sound-design, a world is created that echos these pain experiences. This is a meditation on pain as one of the most universal yet isolating experiences we share.
Migraines & Tsunamis has appeared in broadcast & podcast on Re:Sound & Constellations.
